Windy soldeu and a cracked rib.

We arrived tuesday in Soldeu, Andorra.
I tryed to do some training the first day but I was still sick and weak from the flu.
I decided to keep my energy for the three days race.

DAY 1 --> GS
Bib #23
The organization postponed for a while and than they decided to quit: race cancelled due the wind.

DAY 2 --> SL
Bib #21
Sunny saturday.
After a good first run (I was thirteenth) I did a mess in the last part of the second run: I finished 19th.
Aaargh!

DAY 3 --> GS
Bib #23
Big sun in the sky and really cold air.
I didn't slept all night and I started the day with a GS gate on my face during the warm up: an hard morning was announced.
Anonymous first run due a big mistake in the first part.
With a good second run I made up some positions and I finished 12th.
Quite happy.

SUMMARY OF WEEKEND:
Being always around the top fifteen it's always good but I try every day to be faster until I'll win.
I really love when I can travel and go to ski with my sister.
I'm feeling lucky to have my name on a gondola in Soldeu.
A lovely and painful souvenir: half blue face and a cracked rib for had hitting the GS pole.

Now I have two free weekend that I'll spend to cheer my family starting by tomorrow with the GS in Bansko and the DH in Sochi.
Meanwhile I will do some training between snow and gym.
With love,
Irene

Between the big cold and some Europa Cup.

I have been quite busy in the last weeks but I had such a great time starting in Kraniska Gora with the 16th place in GS and the 10th in Slalom. I was happy to race there instead Maribor for many reasons: new slope, more technical, more icy.. all good for me.
Those results will give me useful points for the next start list in Soldeu.

Than I went in Melchsee Frutt for Europa Cup: the best training in slalom is do race.
It's always better to wear a number on your chest than the normal training: you feel different and you can try different things on your skis.

After Switzerland I had a lovely weekend in Courmayeur with one of my best friend in the world, Anna.
It's so nice to spend some time with the people I love.

Recently I did a day of GS training and than other two Europa Cup slalom in San Candido.

In these days a siberian cold arrived in Italy and we are literally freezing.
I get a flu after the last races and I'm spending the weekend at home lying on the couch and trying do get better soon.
Next week we are in Soldeu and we have 3 races so I will need all my energy!

That was something I did and I thought in the last weeks.
It's a pleasure to share.

With love,
Irene

Ps: my sister was 5th today in superG in Garmisch... AWESOME!!!
